Lux’s Illumination passive marks enemies damaged by her abilities, allowing a follow-up basic attack to trigger additional magic damage. Riot’s champion page describes that relationship between spells and attacks. Learning when to use the follow-up is as important as knowing it exists. (Riot Games Lux champion overview)

Look at the route into range

After landing a spell, pause long enough to notice what stands between you and the target. An available mark is not a command to walk past cover or into another opponent’s reach. Sometimes the useful outcome is the pressure already created by the spell.

Practice the interaction in a predictable setting first, then compare it with a crowded fight. That contrast makes it easier to see how positioning changes a mechanically simple decision.

Hold a clear place in the fight

Try to keep track of the teammate or terrain feature you are using as a reference point. If the fight moves, reassess your position before chasing another hit. Review moments where you moved forward without knowing where you would retreat. Lux can teach patience: use a readable opening, decide whether the follow-up is worth the movement, and preserve the space needed for your next useful spell.
