Santa Cruz Skateboards released a limited run of Pokémon Trading Card Game blind-bag skateboard decks on October 17 to mark 30 years of Pokémon, and you won’t know which one you’ve got until you open the bag. Santa Cruz’s US web store prices each bag at $139.95.

One sealed bag, one of 30 cards

Each sealed bag holds one 8-by-31.6-inch deck carrying the artwork of one of 30 Pokémon TCG cards. The 30 regular designs pair original card art with new deck graphics built around details such as Energy types. Examples on Pokémon’s site include Lugia-EX from Black & White—Plasma Storm and Umbreon VMAX from Sword & Shield—Evolving Skies.

Then there are the chases. Three rarer glitter gold foil variants each show a collage of 10 cards, and Santa Cruz says each of those is limited to 500 worldwide.

What comes with a deck, and what the store won’t allow

Every deck comes with:

  • A Limited Edition Pokémon Player’s Guide booklet showing all 30 designs and the chase variants
  • A co-branded sticker

The boards themselves are seven-ply North American maple. Santa Cruz’s US store, meanwhile, sets firm limits:

  • Two decks per buyer
  • No returns of opened blind bags
  • Repeat orders shipped to the same address are canceled

Unavailable for now, with bot orders canceled

As of early Sunday, the deck was listed as unavailable on Santa Cruz’s US store. The store said it was canceling orders placed by bots and that more units may be released to the public on Monday.

Pokémon says the decks are also sold through Pokémon Center and local skate shops. The collection adds apparel and griptape, too: on Santa Cruz’s US store, men’s tees cost $31.95, men’s hoodies $69.95 to $71.95, hats $29.95 and griptape $16.95.

If you still want a deck, check the US store on Monday or ask a local skate shop that carries Santa Cruz.
