Valorant Launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Australia and New Zealand

Console players in Australia and New Zealand get a Sydney server, PlayStation and Xbox crossplay, and progress shared with PC.
Good news if you play on PlayStation or Xbox in Australia or New Zealand. Valorant is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in both countries. The console version launched on September 23 at 10 AM AEST on a Sydney server, arriving alongside Patch 13.06.
When it went live near you
The 10 AM AEST start was just one of several local launch times across the region.
- 8 AM AWST: Western Australia
- 9:30 AM ACST: South Australia and the Northern Territory
- 10 AM AEST: New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania
- 12 PM NZST: New Zealand
- 12:45 PM: New Zealand’s Chatham Islands
Riot locked the console server from September 17 for testing ahead of launch, while PC players were unaffected.
Will you be matched with PC players?
No. PlayStation and Xbox players can play together, but console players are not matched with PC players, which Riot keeps separate for competitive fairness. Your lobbies will be PlayStation and Xbox players only.
Your progress isn’t split, though. You use the same account on console and PC, so anything you earn on one platform stays with your account on the other. If you’ve already put hours into Valorant on PC, you won’t be starting from scratch.
Do you need PlayStation Plus or Game Pass?
No. Neither PlayStation Plus nor Xbox Game Pass is required, so the game stays free to play on both consoles. There’s no subscription standing between you and a match.
