Crimson Desert’s Charting the Unknown DLC is out. Pearl Abyss released it on Thursday, October 29, at 22:00 UTC (15:00 PT, 18:00 ET), with a new storyline each for Kliff, Oongka and Damiane, underwater exploration, ships, romance and marriage, and a boss rush.
Steam lists the DLC at $24.99. It’s for Crimson Desert Enhanced, which is $69.99 on Steam; Xbox Wire notes that Crimson Desert launched in March and that August’s free Patch 2.00 turned it into Crimson Desert Enhanced.
Where to get Charting the Unknown
Here’s where Charting the Unknown stands:
- Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and Epic Games Store: out now, with a base-game update patch released at the same time.
- Mac App Store: also out, though Pearl Abyss says the update may arrive slightly later there than on other platforms.
- Saudi Arabia: on October 30, Pearl Abyss said the DLC had been approved by GMEDIA and that preparations were underway to sell it there.
New to the game? A 5-hour Crimson Desert Enhanced free trial is offered on PlayStation and Xbox, and progress carries over to the full game. The trial doesn’t include Charting the Unknown. Pearl Abyss gives January 7, 2027, as the end date for the trial on Xbox.
What Charting the Unknown adds
Three new storylines
Kliff, Oongka and Damiane each get a new storyline, started from the Journal menu after you finish the main story. A new ocean-focused storyline opens after you complete Howling Hill in the main story.
Diving and ships
You can dive to explore underwater ruins, treasure chests and new creatures and mounts. Staying underwater uses breath, and gear such as a diving suit extends it. Ships can be built through a ship-building dispatch mission at a port or bought from a Fleet Office manager, then sailed across the Great Ocean of Pywel.
Romance, homes and businesses
Kliff, Oongka and Damiane can build relationships with some of Pywel’s inhabitants that may lead to romance and even marriage. An upgraded housing system lets you build a house from the ground up, three castles can be claimed and decorated, and you can rent and manage businesses, from a restaurant in Vellua to a smithy at Zargan Tankworks.
Garden of Trials
The Garden of Trials is a boss rush against bosses from the main adventure, with special rewards. It unlocks after you clear the main questline.
