Cyberpunk 2077 has a new story tied to the anime. CD PROJEKT RED released the free Edgerunners 2 Update, Update 2.5, on Thursday, October 22, two days after all ten episodes of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premiered on Netflix.

The update is out on PC and Mac through Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store, on PlayStation 5 and on Xbox Series X|S. CD PROJEKT RED, which created the series with Japanese studio TRIGGER, said the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store versions would follow in the days after.

How to unlock Clampdown, the prequel job

Clampdown is a new side quest set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. To start it:

  1. Complete The Heist.
  2. Finish two gigs for Wakako.
  3. Wait for a message from her.

Clampdown rewards a new 5-piece gear set based on the character King. A second new side quest, Welcome to Paradise, is a guided tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night, and it unlocks after The Heist once you reach Street Cred level 15.

Night City’s radio grows too. A new station, HKGN 102.0 FM, plays a selection of tracks from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series.

Double Trouble puts a gun in each hand

The new Double Trouble perk sits in the Cool tree with four auxiliary perks, and it lets V dual-wield Pistols and Revolvers from the Power category.

Hand cyberware gets a cosmetic pass. Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System can now be restyled at 5 Glamdocs, each a unique shop with its own catalog of cyberware skins and customizable colors.

Five new outfit sets are sold by vendors: Maxiwear, Jinguji, NetWatch and IconAmerica, plus one more coming later. Some hairstyles that were NPC-only are now available for V as well.

Mods reach consoles through mod.io

Cross-Platform Mod Support, powered by mod.io, lets you browse and install a selection of player-made mods from the in-game menu. It works on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.

There is one catch for console players: achievements and trophies can’t be earned on console from a modded save.

Tarot cards, DLSS 4.5 and Twitch Drops

The rest of Update 2.5 covers collectibles, graphics and display options, and Twitch Drops:

  • Twelve new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards extend the Fool on the Hill quest, with a special reward for collecting them all.
  • DLSS 4.5 support arrives with up to 6X Multi Frame Generation.
  • Compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors get glasses-free 3D.
  • Consoles get an FOV slider.
  • FSR 3 upscaling is removed, while FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain.
  • Four TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are available through Twitch Drops.
