Modern Warfare 4’s first season goes live at 0000 (midnight) ET on Friday, November 6, or 2100 PT on Thursday, November 5, across all platforms. Activision’s Season 1 overview, published October 28, lines up three Multiplayer maps, DMZ’s X01 facility, new weapons and a linear Battle Pass with automatic catch-up for premium owners.

It’s also when Modern Warfare 4 becomes fully integrated into Warzone, which gets two new maps, Hajin and Zodiac, plus the return of Verdansk and Rebirth Island. Activision has promised full Warzone details on Monday, November 2.

Backstab, Canyon and a snowy Shoot House

Three 6v6 Multiplayer maps arrive at Season 1 launch:

  • Backstab, a brand-new, medium-sized map set in a snowy, war-torn town
  • Canyon, also brand-new and medium-sized
  • Shoot House, reimagined and set in North Korea during a light snowfall

Ministry and Overflow follow in the Season 1 Reloaded mid-season update, along with more maps Activision still lists as classified. Ahead of the season, the remastered Shipment was added on October 27, the new Possession mode arrived on October 29 and Infected followed on October 30.

Grind and Drop Zone return at launch, alongside Gauntlet 1v1, a 1v1 Gunfight limited-time mode accessed through the Wager Match Event. That event uses Trophies as currency, and Activision’s blog states that no money or items of real-world value are available by participating. Kill Block also gets a featured static combo called Crash, which Infinity Ward hand-picked from the most popular combinations in the Modern Warfare 4 Beta. All three slabs stay fixed between rounds.

X01, a GRANIT Arms black site in DMZ

In DMZ, Season 1 opens X01, a former Russian facility on the edge of Hajin’s borders that North Korean forces have seized. Activision’s intel says it appears to have been a GRANIT Arms black site, and Ghost guides Operators through new DMZ Orders inside. Season 1 DMZ events include Threat Briefing: Battle Tank, Threat Briefing: The Captain (a Juggernaut) and Resupply Run.
