Digital preorders can play the complete globe-spanning story now, one week before the full game launches on October 23.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Early Access is live as of October 16, giving eligible digital buyers a full week to finish the story before the game’s October 23 launch. Access includes all 16 missions rather than a limited preview.
Two soldiers face one global threat
The campaign splits its focus between Private Park Hyun Jun, whose squad is resisting a full-scale invasion of the Korean Peninsula, and outlaw John Price, who is hunting the person pulling the strings. Their missions also move through Paris, New York, and Mumbai as the conflict expands beyond Korea.
Campaign Early Access is included with digital preorders or prepurchases of the Standard Digital and Vault editions. Supported platforms are Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Finishing the story unlocks launch-day gear
Progress through the campaign awards eight base operators, calling cards, an emblem, a loading screen, and several Double XP and Double Weapon XP tokens. Those rewards become usable in Multiplayer and DMZ when the full game arrives.
The early campaign window also leads directly into DMZ Early Access on October 20. That creates a staggered rollout: the complete single-player story first, DMZ four days later, and the full Modern Warfare 4 release on October 23.
