Bandai Namco’s updated action RPG launches worldwide with visual options, faster battles, and modern progression controls.

Tales of Eternia Remastered is available worldwide on October 16, returning Bandai Namco’s 2001 action RPG to current platforms. The release covers Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.
The Grand Fall threatens two connected worlds
The story follows Reid Hershel, Farah, Keele, and the mysterious Meredy across Inferia and Celestia, two realms that face one another across the sky. Their journey centers on stopping the Grand Fall, a collision that could destroy both worlds. Doing that means seeking the Greater Craymels and confronting the differences that separate the group as much as the worlds around them.
The remaster adds control without replacing the original
Players can switch between remastered and original presentation through separate Graphics and SFX modes. New quality-of-life settings also allow adjustments to experience gains and encounter frequency, while destination icons make the next objective easier to identify.
Combat receives a high-speed option during Auto mode, plus Battle Retry and Quick Recovery features that reduce downtime after difficult encounters. Extreme difficulty is available from the beginning, and a new Unknown setting unlocks after completion. Together, the additions let returning players preserve the classic look and rhythm or move through the adventure with a faster, more flexible setup.
