The Z-A Battle Club supports four-player Link Battles, and the official announcement describes private matches using a Link Code through local or online play. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players can battle together. Online play requires the applicable Nintendo Switch Online membership. (Pokémon Legends Z-A Link Battle announcement)

Decide whether you are experimenting, teaching a new player, or playing seriously. A group learning the controls benefits from explaining unusual interactions between rounds. A competitive session benefits from agreeing on expectations before choosing teams.

Share the code through your own group conversation and confirm everyone is using the intended connection mode. Do a quick joining test before setting aside the whole evening for a tournament.

After a battle, talk about one moment each player found difficult to read. In a four-player setting, a successful action against one opponent can leave an opening for another. Notice when attention shifted and how you responded. Private sessions are useful because they let you explore those decisions without treating every unfamiliar mechanic as a mistake you should already have understood.
