Your First Black Ops 7 Session Should Start With a Test

A short practice routine helps separate unfamiliar controls from an unfamiliar multiplayer map.

Call of Duty’s Black Ops 7 introductory guide points new players toward the Training Course and Firing Range to try movement, weapons, and settings. Those spaces are useful even if you have played earlier entries: familiarity with the series does not make every new configuration feel natural immediately. (Call of Duty Black Ops 7 COD 101 guide)
Change one setting at a time
Start with a comfortable sensitivity and repeat a simple aiming movement between two targets. Then try moving, stopping, and reacquiring the same target. If you change several settings at once, you lose the ability to tell which adjustment made the control easier.
Use a weapon you can return to consistently. The goal is a baseline for comparison, not a declaration that one gun is the best in the current patch.
Carry one objective into multiplayer
For your opening matches, focus on learning a route or approaching an objective with teammates. Review whether your deaths came from control mistakes, exposed positioning, or unfamiliar map access. Each points to a different practice task. A useful first evening ends with one thing you understand better, even if the scoreboard is rough. Return to the practice tools whenever a major settings change makes the game feel less predictable.
