The Coalition confirms September 29 preloading, October 1 early access, and final PC requirements.

Gears of War: E-Day has gone gold ahead of its October launch. The Coalition also confirmed that preloading begins September 29 at 8 a.m. Pacific on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox PC app, and Steam.
Premium Edition players can begin on October 1 at 8 a.m. Pacific, while the worldwide release follows on October 6 at the same time. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members receive access on the worldwide launch date, not at the start of the Premium Edition window.
The PC checklist is now available
The studio published its final PC specification chart alongside the announcement. That gives PC players a chance to compare their hardware, clear storage, and update drivers before the preload opens. Performance and stability work has continued since the July multiplayer beta, though going gold does not rule out patches before or after release.
E-Day is an origin story set 14 years before the first Gears of War. Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago face the beginning of the Locust invasion, returning the series to the horror and destruction of Emergence Day.
Three dates to remember
The schedule is straightforward: September 29 for the download, October 1 for eligible early access, and October 6 for the full launch. Players using Game Pass should plan around the last of those dates.
