Microsoft’s smallest controller keeps 18 standard inputs, wireless support, and a rechargeable battery for $49.99.

Microsoft has introduced the Xbox Nano Controller, a compact wireless gamepad designed for smaller hands, younger players, and travel. It measures a little over five inches long, weighs 3.5 ounces, and is priced at $49.99 in the United States.
The familiar controls stay intact
Despite the reduced shell, the Nano includes all 18 standard gameplay inputs found on the regular Xbox layout. It also has a rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button that can be assigned to screenshots, gameplay capture, or another frequently used shortcut. Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth provide connections across compatible consoles, PCs, and other supported devices.
Preorders are open ahead of November
The controller can be preordered now and is scheduled to reach an initial group of markets in November, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and much of Europe. Pricing and exact availability vary by region, with additional markets planned later.
Microsoft is also pairing the Nano with holiday promotions. Select Samsung televisions in the United States will include an offer for the controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new members. A separate Meta Quest promotion will provide the same controller and introductory Game Pass offer. The compact design makes the Nano particularly suited to cloud gaming, local multiplayer, and carrying a full control layout without packing a standard-size gamepad.
