Warframe’s Taubound Operation Begins the Community Journey to Tau
GAME MODE Staff·Oct 16, 2026· 2m read
The limited-time event sends players to Eris for Moonflesh while a permanent story prologue puts The Lotus in their hands.

Warframe’s Epoch Operation: Taubound begins October 15 as a one-time community event built around the long-teased journey to the Tau system. Players across platforms will contribute to a shared objective until the operation ends on November 17.
Moonflesh fuels the trip
The event sends new and returning players into missions on Eris to fight Infested enemies and collect Moonflesh. That resource is used to power Praghasa, the Sentient Mothership being prepared for the expedition. Moonflesh can also be traded for event rewards, including new armor sets, Honoria, Somachords, Glyphs, Sigils, Floofs, Syandanas, Signas, badges, blueprints, and other cosmetics.
The story additions will remain
Alongside the limited operation, Digital Extremes is adding Prologue to Tau, a short cinematic quest that lets players control The Lotus for the first time. The update also opens the surface of Eris to the customizable Vessel shown during TennoCon and introduces a large Infested boss encounter.
Unlike the community event, those quest additions are permanent parts of Warframe’s Quest Codex. Access requires completion of The Hex and The Old Peace, so established players may want to clear those prerequisites before starting the new chapter. Cross-play and cross-save allow the wider community to work toward the shared Taubound objective without being separated by platform.
