Protecting a redeployment window can matter more than chasing a difficult elimination.

Warzone’s Resurgence rules allow eliminated teammates to return while the squad meets the mode’s redeployment conditions. The official guide explains that a surviving teammate and the timer are central to that loop, and that free redeployments eventually close. The value of a single life therefore changes during the match. (Call of Duty Warzone how-to-play guide)

Recognize when you are the anchor

If you are the last active player, pause before accepting an unnecessary fight. Your immediate job may be to preserve the squad’s opportunity to return. Move with cover, keep an exit available, and communicate whether the landing area is still contested.

Returning teammates should decide together where to regroup. Repeatedly dropping into the same lost fight can turn a recoverable situation into another elimination cycle.

Change plans when the window closes

Watch the current match’s on-screen rules and timers, because playlists and seasonal details can change. Once redeployment is no longer available, treat positioning and shared resources with renewed care. A calm call to regroup can be the most valuable contribution of the round. Review not only the fights you lost, but the fights you could have declined while waiting for support.
