Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Follow the Clue, Then Set the Route
GAME MODE Staff·Jul 27, 2026· 1m read
Exploration works better when information gathering comes before a long ride.

Shadows uses clues, Observe, and scouts as parts of its exploration loop. Ubisoft also describes kakurega as useful stops for activities such as resupply and fast travel, while Pathfinder can help with navigation toward supported targets. These systems give a journey several stages beyond following a marker. (Ubisoft Shadows exploration overview)
Narrow the question first
Before crossing a region, reread the information attached to your objective. Identify what you know about the location and what remains uncertain. Gathering another clue can be more useful than riding toward a rough guess and searching every building when you arrive.
Use a nearby stop to prepare before approaching a larger objective. A small pause to review supplies and the route can keep the main encounter from being interrupted by an avoidable errand.
Leave room for a discovery
Set a destination, but allow yourself one interesting detour along the way. This keeps exploration purposeful without reducing the landscape to empty travel time. If you find a useful route or place to return, record it with the tools available in your game. A region becomes easier to read when its landmarks connect to experiences you remember rather than a screen full of unfinished icons.
