Hello Games expands orbital exploration with salvage, star bases and player alliances.

No Man’s Sky has more reasons to stay in orbit. Hello Games’ Cosmos announcement confirms the update launched on PS5 on September 9, free for existing PlayStation players.
Build a home above the planets
Players can buy and customize a system’s space station, construct modular bases in space and form alliances. A new system map helps locate points of interest, while outposts offer trading and missions.
Salvage comes with a risk. Large wrecks can be dismantled with a gravity gun and a ship’s tractor beam, but taking too much can trigger an explosion. Scanning for valuable material before tearing into a wreck is the developer’s suggested approach.
A reason to return
The anniversary expedition revisits earlier updates through its milestones. Our read: Cosmos gives returning players two clear starting points—explore the new orbital locations, or follow that guided trip through the game’s history. Station ownership can become a longer project once you have found your bearings.
